EQUIVIBE TREATMENTS TO STIMULATE BLOOD FLOW
The EquiVibe gives off a vertical vibration which helps activate the muscle spindle cells within the muscles better since it mimics the muscle contraction. Vertical vibration also activates the postural muscles which facilitate better muscle balance and coordination. Specific vibration frequencies can produce various different effects on the body, low levels have been proven to help with increasing lymphatic drainage, medium to high level frequencies can reduce joint pain and enhance muscle strength. Vibration therapy alone is significant because everything in nature oscillates at a frequency/vibration. Circular vibration can be beneficial but can also put torsion on muscles which could provoke mild/minor sprain/strain. Dr. Kyle Daigle
ICE VIBE BOOTS
ICE-VIBE boots are a portable massage boots with hot/cold inserts to create warm or cold circulation they can be used before or after exercise or during rehabilitation.
Using the boots before you ride can assist you to prepare your horses legs for exercise in the stable, they do this by creating a massaging effect increasing blood flow to the tendons and ligaments making them more elastic, which can help reduce the risk of injury. The massaging effect also helps to stimulate the lymph system similar to exercise to help reduce existing inflammation.
Tendons do not return to previous temperatures as quickly as muscles when cooled as they don t have the same blood supply or metabolism therefore making the legs very cold for long periods of time may actually cause an inflammatory response. The boots are designed to cool the tissue via the cold packs and slow down the blood flow to reduce inflammation but when combined with massage the blood flow is not completely restricted, this allows oxygen to be maintained to tired and damaged tissue allowing for a better recovery.
Tendon after using ice pack and vibration with ICE-VIBE boot. Leg is significantly cooler.
Tendon problems are often the result of a buildup of damage. By using the ICE-VIBE boots regularly you can help stimulate blood flow to your horses legs created by the massaging effect whilst they are standing in a stable.
When an area is healing scar tissue is formed, the movement created by the vibration and massage helps to break down adhesions and scar tissue whilst increasing blood flow to assist healing.
PEMF Therapy can help reduce inflammation and pain in addition to accelerate healing.
These beneficial effects are harnessed to treat equine sore backs, sore stifles and sore shoulders, Treatments typically last 30 minutes, and are not stressful; rather they are calming and relaxing.
PEMF has been used since the 1970’s to stimulate cells and energize natural cellular processes. All cellular functions are influenced by differences in voltage, or electrical potential. By using magnetic wavelengths and frequencies similar to those naturally occurring in the body and from the earth, PEMF is able to positively influence electrical potential in the cells and decrease Inflammation, increase circulation, reduce pain and accelerate healing.
